• To be able to teach native and non-native Chinese speakers. • To be a figurehead for the promotion of Chinese culture and language in the Junior School. • To ensure ‘Students Come First’, and act in accordance with the Philosophy and ****ives of the school. • To be flexible in order to meet the constantly changing demands of this role. • To be prepared to meet and plan collaboratively with colleagues in other Dulwich Colleges and beyond. • To keep up-to-date with educational developments, strategy and thinking. • To actively pursue your own professional development as a leader in education. • To show commitment to the rigorous continuous improvement of the school. • To demonstrate a positive commitment to working with stakeholders (students, parents, staff, Friends of Dulwich, DCMI and other partners) to improve the performance and enhance the reputation of the school. • To annually formulate and review subject specific policy documentation in full consultation with teaching staff. • To annually write a Chinese Department Action Plan for Junior School and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan, on a termly basis. • To ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in Chinese, for all students. • To use data analysis effectively to contribute to school improvement. • To exemplify outstanding practice in the learning environment and provide demonstration lessons for staff as appropriate. • To advise and inform staff within Junior School about new resources (innovations), information and guidance for Chinese. • To monitor and evaluate the quality of Chinese learning and teaching throughout Junior School, through lesson observations, book sa |
